Job Description
Portland Pet Food Company is now accepting applications for a Lead Baker for the am shift at our SE wholesale production facility in Portland, Oregon.
Our team works closely with our fulfillment & shipping departments to ensure we are baking & packaging a high-quality product that will be loved by dogs everywhere. We need a dedicated baker who is extremely reliable and precise. We are a team-oriented business and are growing rapidly. This position supports the Bakery Department by ensuring that production goals are met through providing support, knowledge, and guidance to the bakery staff. To ensure overall success, the bakery will occasionally assist fulfillment & packaging staff. Training will be provided for all tasks assigned and equipment used.
Rate of Pay:
Starting at $22 hourlyBenefits for FT employees include Health/Dental Vision & Life Insurance, 8 Paid Holidays, Paid Time Off provided after training period, Employee Assistance Program, Employee Referral Program, and Educational Assistance Program offered.
Schedule:
40 hours weekly Monday to Friday 5:30 am - 2:00 pm
Duties & Responsibilities:
Meet daily production goals.
Direct staff by assigning tasks, managing breaks, training, and providing corrective feedback.
Mix, form, bake, and package dog treats.
Follow health and safety standards and adhere to SSOP processes to maintain clean facilities.
Verify the accuracy of projects and completion of paperwork.
Occasionally participate in packaging & warehouse tasks.
Experience & AttributesEducation & TrainingMultnomah County Food Handler s certificate required within 30 days of hire
Professional Experience:
1+ years working in a bakery preferred.
Food manufacturing experience a plus.
Understanding of food manufacturing, food safety, lot coding, and FIFO inventory
Personal Experience & Work Ethic:
