Assistant Baker Cranston, RI Job Details Full-time $18 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Employee discount Qualifications Food production Teamwork Developing new product formulations FIFO Baked goods Patience 1 year Communication skills Food Handler Certification Entry level Stock rotation Full Job Description You would be responsible for daily production, including fresh croissants, scones, muffins, cinnamon buns, etc. Daily tasks include making doughs, batters, fillings, etc. Strong communication skills are very important for this position. Students are welcome to apply but must be available for the full time hours we are looking to fill. We ideally would like someone who has the free time to commit to this position. We are a small staff that are very inclusive, supportive and treat one another as family.

Preferred skills:

At least 1 year of baking experience. Recipe testing/development. Experience with enriched laminated doughs. Experience with keeping inventory. Understanding the purpose of ingredients in recipes. Food handlers certificate.

Required skills:

Open to improvement, criticism and constructive feedback. Dedication and understanding of the importance of consistency. Strong communication skills. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work early morning hours for the duration of 6-10 hours. Collaborative & creative with recipes and specials in order to minimize waste. Work well under pressure. Ability to work independently while also feeling comfortable to ask questions and eager to learn more. Complete understanding of FIFO and rotation of products. Dedication and understanding to Food Safety and cleanliness. Open availability and ability to move schedule around when/if needed.

Pay:

$18.00 per hour
