We are a from-scratch and boutique bakery that specializes in custom cakes, gourmet cupcakes, french macarons and so much more! Sugar Ray's Bake Shop is looking for someone highly motivated, well organized, creative, a team player, and passionate about all aspects involved in baking and pastry. All candidates must have an extreme level of attention to detail and enjoy working as part of a team in a fast paced environment. Candidates must be willing to be coached and learn in order to adapt to needs of the bakery. Looking for
FRIDAY/SATURDAY
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • assisting in Baking daily pars of cakes, cupcakes and counter items
  • Making buttercream for all cupcakes or counter items
  • Icing, decorating, and garnishing all cupcakes or counter items
  • Assist in completing all orders specified for that day
  • Assisting with front of house duties that include: greeting and assisting guests, maintaining the appearance of the counter and guest area, building boxes, handling money, and taking custom orders
  • Ensuring cleanliness of the kitchen
  • Ingredient inventory
  • In charge of baking off many different flavors of cupcakes/cakes/cookies before the decorators arrive
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Baking experience required
  • Previous experience working in a bakery or pastry kitchen is preferred
  • Diploma or certification in baking and pastry is a plus
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Highly reliable and responsible
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Focus on guest needs and remaining courteous at all times
Physical Demand:
  • Constant standing or walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
