Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Baker to oversee the daily hands-on operations of our bakery. In this role, you will lead our core production from scratch, specializing in our signature babkas, while managing team workflow across mixing, shaping, baking, packaging and cleaning. You will be responsible for maintaining high quality standards, consistent output, and an efficient kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Hands-on Production:
Mix, proof, shape, fill and bake our scratch-made babka and baked goods according to exact recipes and standards.
Daily Operations:
Manage the daily baking and packaging schedules to ensure all orders are filled accurately and delivered on time.
Team Leadership:
Guide, train and support baking and packaging staff during production shifts to maintain quality and efficiency.
Inventory & Quality Control:
Monitor ingredient stock, track product consistency and uphold strict food safety.
Process Improvement:
Optimize production workflows to minimize waste and streamline the transition from baking to final packaging.
Qualifications:
Experience:
2+ years of professional commercial baking experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead capacity.
Specialized Knowledge:
Proven mastery in yeast dough/rich doughs production.
Packaging & Logistics:
Familiarity with high-volume food packaging procedures and quality assurance before distribution is a plus
Physical & Schedule Stamina:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods.
Certifications:
Active Food Handlers or Food Manager certification.
