ABOUT THE POSITION

Custom Cake Cakery is seeking a dependable and organized Assistant Baker / Bakery Production Assistant to join our team. This position supports the preparation and baking of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, bars, breads, case cakes, and other bakery products. The ideal candidate has basic baking knowledge, follows recipes accurately, works efficiently, and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality items. This is primarily a production-baking position. Advanced cake-decorating experience is not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare cake batters, cookies, brownies, bars, breads, fillings, frostings, and other bakery products Accurately measure and weigh ingredients according to bakery recipes Bake cake layers, cupcakes, sheet cakes, case cakes, and grab-and-go products Follow weekly cake-order and front-case production sheets Label completed products with the correct flavor, quantity, and baking date Monitor baking times, oven temperatures, product color, and doneness Remove products from pans and prepare them for cooling, wrapping, filling, or decorating Maintain consistent product size, quality, flavor, and appearance Properly rotate, label, store, and organize ingredients and finished products Inform management when ingredients or supplies are running low Clean and sanitize mixing bowls, pans, utensils, equipment, and workstations Assist with washing dishes and maintaining the bakery's cleanliness Follow food-safety, sanitation, allergen, confidentiality, and workplace procedures Assist the lead baker, cake decorators, and management as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic baking knowledge or experience is preferred Home-baking, culinary-school, restaurant, grocery-store bakery, or professional bakery experience will be considered Ability to follow recipes and written production instructions accurately Comfortable using mixers, ovens, scales, measuring tools, and standard bakery equipment Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to meet production deadlines Able to work independently after training Able to accept instruction and constructive feedback professionally Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in a warm bakery environment Able to safely lift and carry ingredients, pans, supplies, and completed products Must maintain a clean and professional appearance Must be available during the bakery's busiest production periods, including some mornings and weekends

COMPENSATION AND EMPLOYEE PERKS
