401(k) matching Competitive salary Employee discounts Job Overview Simma's Bakery is looking for a full time employee to add to our crew. The ideal candidate will have of 5+ years of experience and decorating pastries and cupcakes, or 2+ years of experience and recent culinary degree. The most important qualifications are piping and icing experience, organizational and time management skills, and attention to detail. If you do not meet the minimum experience requirements listed but feel that you have the required skills please explain in your cover letter. We are looking for someone who is excited about this career and willing to put in the hours to meet the increasing demand for our cakes, cheese cakes, mini pastries. Primary duties are handling our mini pastry and cupcake orders, writing on cakes, and checking out wedding deliveries. Secondary duties include assisting assemble and ice our cheese cakes. You need to be able or learn how to assemble and ice our sponge cakes, and potentially assist with that duty. Work schedule Tuesday
  • Friday, 8am
  • 4pm or until all work for the day is completed. Saturday
  • Typically a half day: morning, midday, or afternoon.
Duties Track weekly orders and follow our weekly production guide to ensure all pastries are ready for customers. Bake all mini pastries. Utilize piping techniques to write on cakes, and to decorate pastries and cupcakes at a high standard with excellent consistency. Check out wedding drivers to ensure all products make delivery. Assemble and ice cheese cakes. Communicate ordering needs to managers and supporting crew members. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food handling regulations. Assist in inventory management by monitoring supplies. Qualifications Proven baking and piping experience. Excellent artistic skills with attention to detail in design and presentation. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced bakery environment while maintaining quality standards. Must take direction well from managers and have a willingness to learn and follow established procedures. Must be willing to stay until work is finished. Some weeks will have heavier work loads and will require you to stay later than the normal end time. Must have Saturday and holiday availability.
