Job Summary Jersey Subs is looking for a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Barista / Counter Server to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing high-quality espresso beverages and coffee drinks while also providing exceptional customer service, taking orders, preparing fresh food, and maintaining a clean and welcoming restaurant. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has a positive attitude, and takes pride in delivering outstanding guest experiences. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet every customer with a friendly, welcoming attitude. Accurately take customer orders in person and over the phone. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process cash, credit card, and digital payments. Prepare fresh sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and other menu items according to company recipes and food safety standards. Slice meats, cheeses, and vegetables while maintaining product quality and consistency. Restock ingredients, beverages, chips, and other merchandise throughout the shift. Maintain clean dining, kitchen, and food preparation areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and food preparation equipment. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning and stocking. Monitor inventory levels and notify management of items that need replenishing. Work as part of a team to ensure fast, accurate service during busy periods. Handle customer concerns professionally and seek management assistance when needed. Complete assigned cleaning and side work throughout the shift. Qualifications Previous restaurant or customer service experience is preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Dependable with excellent attendance. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Bend, reach, stoop, and twist throughout the workday. Ability to work in refrigerated food preparation areas and around hot cooking equipment. Work Environment Fast-paced restaurant environment. Frequent interaction with customers and coworkers. Exposure to kitchen equipment, food preparation tools, and cleaning chemicals.
