Coffee Barista

We are seeking a friendly, motivated, and customer-oriented Barista to join our team at Garage-East. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting delicious coffee beverages and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in ensuring that our customers have a positive and memorable experience.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and Serve Beverages:

Craft a variety of coffee and tea beverages, including espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, iced drinks, and specialty creations, following established recipes and guidelines. Operate coffee brewing equipment, espresso machines, grinders, , and other kitchen appliances efficiently and safely.

Customer Service:

Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, friendly, and professional service. Take customer orders accurately and process payments using the point-of-sale system. Offer product recommendations and inform customers about specials or promotions.

Maintain Cleanliness:

Keep the coffee shop clean and organized, including the counter, seating areas, restrooms, and storage spaces. Perform daily cleaning tasks, such as sanitizing equipment, washing utensils, and disposing of trash.

Stock and Inventory Management:

Replenish coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other ingredients as needed. Assist with inventory management, including tracking stock levels and notifying the manager of low supplies.

Team Collaboration:

Work cooperatively with fellow baristas and our wine staff to ensure efficient service and smooth operations during peak hours. Communicate effectively with the team to address customer needs and preferences. Adhere to

Health and Safety Standards:

Follow health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation protocols, to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the management promptly.

Additional Duties:

Assist in opening and closing procedures as required. Participate in training sessions and meetings to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role is but not required. Basic understanding of coffee and tea beverages is a plus.

Skills:

Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality beverages. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds. Willingness to learn and adapt to new recipes, techniques, and processes.
