Barista - Carmel-by-the-Sea, California Established in 1899 , Carmel Bakery has been part of the story of Carmel-by-the-Sea for more than 125 years. Located on Ocean Avenue in the heart of downtown Carmel, we welcome local regulars and visitors from around the world for coffee, pastries, breakfast favorites, and our famous pretzels. On a busy day, the world truly walks through our doors. We are looking for friendly, dependable people who enjoy working with others, learning new skills, and creating a welcoming experience for every guest. Flexible availability is strongly encouraged. WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Barista, you are often one of the first people our guests meet. You will help create the friendly, energetic atmosphere that has made Carmel Bakery a Carmel tradition for generations.

Responsibilities include:

Welcome guests warmly and provide attentive, genuine hospitality. Prepare coffee, beverages, pastries, and other menu items according to Carmel Bakery standards. Learn our products and help guests with questions and selections. Accurately take orders and process payments. Keep the counter, guest areas, and workspaces clean, organized, and ready for service. Work calmly and efficiently during busy periods and high-volume weekends. Communicate and work closely with teammates to keep service moving. Anticipate guest and operational needs and offer assistance without always having to be asked. Follow food safety, sanitation, cash-handling, and workplace safety procedures. Demonstrate reliable and punctual attendance. Represent the history, values, and hospitality of Carmel Bakery with professionalism and integrity.

COMPENSATION

This is an hourly, tipped position. Baristas may receive additional earnings through tips. Tip amounts vary and are not guaranteed.
