We are searching for an enthusiastic and friendly Part-Time or full-Time Barista to join our team at Book Passage Café. As a Barista, you will be the face of our establishment, providing freshly made drinks, pastries, food, all with exceptional customer service. If you have a passion for coffee, enjoy books, and people who like to read, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

Coffee Preparation:

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to our recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every cup.

Food Preparation:

Prepare simple salads, soup, sandwiches and more.

Customer Service:

Greet customers warmly, take orders with accuracy, and provide knowledgeable recommendations about our coffee and pastry and food offerings

Cash Handling:

Operate the cash register, process payments, and provide change with precision.

Maintain Cleanliness:

Keep the café clean and organized by regularly cleaning workstations, equipment, and public areas. Perform routine maintenance on coffee machines and brewing equipment.

Stock Management:

Monitor and restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, sodas, and other supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Menu Knowledge:

Stay informed about our coffee and food menu

Qualifications:

Passion for coffee and a desire to continuously improve your barista skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Kindness and friendliness is a big plus! Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately. Prior barista experience is a strong plus but not required (training will be provided) You are available daytimes, some evenings, and one day a weekend. You live close by so commuting isn't a problem

Working Conditions:

The part-time position hours typically range from 15 to 25 hours per week. Full time is around 32 hours weekly.
