Job Overview We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team at Pan y Cafe by Arteaga's. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and experience in food and beverage preparation. This role involves creating a welcoming environment for customers while ensuring high-quality beverage and food service standards are met. The position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic setting where attention to detail and teamwork are essential. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks using standard recipes and equipment such as espresso machines and coffee brewers Operate POS systems for order processing and cash handling Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, answering questions, and addressing concerns professionally Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and retail math calculations Ensure food safety standards are followed during food handling, preparation, and serving Restock supplies as needed and assist with inventory management Uphold food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures at all times Requirements Previous barista experience or background in the food industry is preferred Familiarity with POS systems such as toast is a plus Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during busy periods Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and sales transactions Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Experience with coffee preparation, serving, and food service is advantageous Reliable team player with good communication skills Basic understanding of Spanish within the setting of a coffee shop Join our team to deliver exceptional coffee experiences while working in a supportive environment that values quality service and teamwork.
