Full Job Description Job Opportunity:

Experienced Barista Location:

Oakland HQ Café & Coffee Roastery near Jack London Square (2nd & Webster) Are you passionate about coffee and customer service? We're looking for experienced baristas to join our team for 2-4 shifts / week. Saturday & Sunday availability is required , with shifts running from 6:30 am (openers) to around 4 pm (closers).

Starting Pay:

$18/hour + tips (approximately $10/hour). Opportunities for

What We're Looking For Experience:

Barista experience in a busy café is required. You must be skilled in making traditional espresso drinks using a manual machine, including tamping and adjusting the grind. Please do not apply if you are not already a great barista.

Traits:

Punctuality, reliability, and a friendly, customer-focused attitude. Core Responsibilities Greet and assist customers with orders, answer questions on menu items and ingredients Take orders with attention to detail (blend preferences, dairy and sugar ratios, etc.) Prepare and serve coffee drinks and other menu items (e.g., pastries, breakfast burritos) following recipes Process payments through Square POS (or similar system) Maintain a clean, organized bar area and uphold café appearance Manage retail stock (cups, lids, retail coffee bags, etc.) Monitor equipment functionality, report maintenance needs, and follow health/safety protocols Collect and relay customer feedback to managers Support café upkeep: lifting up to 45 lbs, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning bathrooms Wash, rinse, and sanitize café equipment Required Skills English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking) Basic math skills for cash handling and order accuracy Previous experience as a barista with hands-on equipment knowledge Understanding of sanitation regulations Ability to gauge customer preferences and deliver outstanding service Strong communication skills
