Full-time and part-time positions available, shifts within our 7 AM to 4 PM daily hours About Cambrian Perk Cambrian Perk is a new coffee shop and craft kitchen opening this November in the Cambrian Park neighborhood of San Jose. We're built by four local families with more than 50 years of combined experience in the restaurant industry, and we're putting together our founding team now, ahead of opening day. This is a chance to help shape a neighborhood spot from day one, not just join an existing operation. Job Overview We're looking for a Barista to be a core part of our quick service team. This role covers three things at once: working the front terminal, crafting our beverages, and tending to the dining room, all while working closely with our full kitchen. Our menu is chef driven and made from scratch, and many of our beverage ingredients are too. We want high energy, outgoing people who make every guest feel like they made the right choice coming in, and who genuinely show that we're glad they chose us. Duties Prepare and serve espresso drinks, coffee, tea, and other beverages, many made with scratch made ingredients, with consistency and care Work the front terminal, taking guest orders and processing transactions on our Toast POS system, including cash handling and correct change Coordinate closely with the kitchen on order timing and accuracy in our quick service, full kitchen setting Tend to the dining room throughout your shift, keeping tables, condiment stations, and common areas clean and inviting for guests Maintain cleanliness of the bar, equipment, and dining area, following food safety guidelines and cleaning protocols Pitch in on light janitorial work as needed, including things like trash, sweeping, mopping, and restrooms, so the space always feels guest ready Help guests with menu questions and provide friendly, attentive service that makes every guest feel appreciated Follow proper food handling and beverage preparation standards at all times Manage your pace during rushes so quality doesn't slip when it's busy Requirements 2+ years of barista experience preferred, café or quick service background a plus Comfortable learning a new POS system (we use Toast) High energy, outgoing personality that makes guests feel genuinely welcome Strong, genuine customer service skills Solid understanding of espresso and beverage preparation techniques Reliable, on time, and able to keep composure during high volume periods Committed to food safety and a clean workspace No ego, willing to pitch in wherever the team needs it that day, whether that's the register, the bar, the dining room, or light cleaning; no job is too big or too small for anyone on our team Pay & Benefits $25/hour plus tips, tip pooling among staff One week of paid time off for full time team members, with correlating accrued time off for part time team members, in addition to California state mandated sick pay Employee meal and drink discount $100 toward non slip shoes, twice a year Why Join Us You'd be joining Cambrian Perk before we open our doors, which means your standards and your energy help set the tone for everything that follows.
