THE CRAFTED SCONE BARISTA
Bake Shop & Espresso Bar | Part-Time & Full-Time Opportunities The Crafted Scone is looking for energetic, dependable, and hospitality-minded Baristas to join our team. Our Baristas are at the heart of the guest experience. This hands-on bakery-cafe position includes crafting espresso beverages, serving our scratch-made scones, preparing deli items, supporting catering orders, and maintaining an inviting and well-run cafe. The Crafted Scone is more than a coffee shop. We are a bakery and espresso bar, and our team members are expected to learn and support multiple areas of the operation. Depending on experience, aptitude, and business needs, Baristas may also be cross-trained in bakery production. Guest Experience & Hospitality- Warmly welcome and engage with every guest.
- Take orders accurately and efficiently and operate the POS system correctly.
- Develop a strong understanding of our scones, pastries, food, and beverage menu.
- Assist guests with menu questions, recommendations, and attentive service.
- Help create a welcoming environment that encourages guests to return. Coffee & Beverage
- Prepare espresso beverages, coffee, tea, matcha, blended beverages, and seasonal drinks according to The Crafted Scone recipes and standards.
- Maintain quality, consistency, and presentation with every beverage.
- Follow established recipes, measurements, and preparation procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and efficient bar throughout the shift. Bakery & Scone Service
- Maintain quality, consistency, freshness, and presentation with every scone.
- Properly handle, display, package, warm, and serve bakery products according to company standards.
- Maintain beautiful, clean, and properly stocked pastry displays.
- Monitor product availability and communicate replenishment needs.
- Follow established procedures for product freshness, rotation, and handling. Deli & Food Preparation
- Prepare sandwiches, Sconewiches, and other deli and food items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Follow proper portioning, preparation, labeling, storage, and food-safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked deli station.
- Monitor ingredient quality and freshness and complete required preparation and restocking. Catering Support
- Assist with preparing, packaging, and organizing catering orders.
- Carefully verify products, quantities, packaging, and presentation.
- Help ensure catering orders are complete and ready for scheduled pickup.
- Maintain The Crafted Scone's quality and presentation standards for all catering products. Store Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready cafe throughout the entire shift.
- Restock products, ingredients, packaging, and supplies as needed.
- Complete assigned opening, side-work, cleaning, and closing responsibilities.
- Follow proper food-handling, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with bakers, Baristas, Store Leads, and management.
- Support other areas of the store when needed and take initiative when something needs to be cleaned, stocked, prepared, or completed. Cross-Training & Bakery Opportunities Because The Crafted Scone operates as both a scratch bakery and espresso bar, Baristas may be cross-trained in bakery production based on experience, aptitude, and business needs.
- Learn our scone production process and standardized bakery procedures.
- Prepare and portion bakery ingredients.
- Assist with mixing, shaping, baking, finishing, pastry production, and other bakery responsibilities as trained.
- Learn bakery opening, production, and closing responsibilities.
- Maintain bakery quality, consistency, and presentation standards. Previous baking experience is a plus but is not required for the Barista position. What We're Looking For

- Previous coffee, cafe, restaurant, bakery, deli, or customer-service experience is preferred but not required. Schedule & Availability
- Flexible availability based on business needs, including early mornings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Weekend availability is an important part of working in our bakery-cafe environment. Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move throughout the shift and regularly bend and reach.
- Ability to work around commercial bakery, deli, and espresso equipment.
- Ability to safely lift and move products, ingredients, and supplies as required.
Pay:
