We source, roast and brew some of the best coffees in the world along side an award winning bakery and two cafes. A barista at Boxcar is someone who is passionate about coffee and creating memorable guest experiences. A barista at Boxcar is responsible for the overall feel of the cafe through positivity and attention to detail as well as crafting world class drinks.

Barista responsibilities include:

Create a hospitable and memorable experience for our guests; anticipating and working with their needs in mind at all times. Receive and complete orders accurately Prepare various drinks adhering to company recipes and preparation standards Respond proactively to prevent service delays Operate coffee grinder, brewer and espresso machines; as well as following all cleaning procedures on machinery as needed Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards, procedures and sanitation regulations Maintain and improve the appearance of the cafe and bar on a regular basis; including but not limited to bussing tables, cleaning windows, washing dishes, taking out trash and recycling, re-stocking etc. Educate guests on our coffee and pastry offerings and provide insight on home brewing troubleshooting as needed What we are looking for in you: A passion for hospitality and uplifting your community A love of coffee and passion for continued learning Able to work in a high volume, fast paced environment while maintaining a positive outlook Available to work mornings and weekends A detail-oriented approach Accountability and reliability What we offer: Base pay starting at $13.80/hr plus hourly pooled tips. Tips average $10 hr and we offer a tip guarantee if they fall below $8 hr.
