Job Description
Still Life Coffee & Botanicals is a coffee shop / house plant and gift shop in Durango, Colorado. At Still Life we believe in the magic of details. From the time a customer walks in the door to the moment they leave we are responsible for their experience. This includes everything from the first person they talk to, to the music playing, to the cleanliness of the bathrooms, every detail is part of the experience, and our goal is to make customers feel taken care of in every way we can. We will offer a beautiful menu of coffees, teas, and pastries and an artfully curated collection of house plants, succulents, and other retail items. Responsibilities Greeting customers Take orders, prepare, and serve beverages and baked goods Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards) Maintain a clean and inviting environment for customers and staff Be open to learning about coffee, tea, and house plants Stock and inventory retail goods Be able to work early mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends Support coworkers Why you'd be a great fit You love plants, flowers, coffee, and bringing people together. You have strong people skills, it is important to us that you have a personality that enjoys customer service, this means treating customers as friends, building community, remembering regulars and their orders, caring in a personal way about customers, staff, and the success of the shop. You enjoy playing a part in making someone's day better. You are creative and motivated to solve problems in the workplace. You tolerate stress well in fast-paced highly social environments. You are detail oriented and good with multitasking. You see the value in taking care of space: cleaning up after yourself so your coworkers don't have to, cleaning up tables when you notice they are dirty so customers always feel comfortable, checking on the bathrooms after a rush, etc. You have a witty sense of humor, unique music taste, and a flexible schedule. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least one year of work in customer service
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to lift and move items up to 30lbs
- Job requires long hours on your feet and repeated motions with hands: tamping, pulling shots, steaming milk, etc.
