The ideal candidate has barista and café experience and is ready to work with a creative and collaborative team. Training will be provided regardless of experience level to ensure consistent product delivery and standards of practice. Bar service experience is a plus, as the menu offerings include beer and wine. Working weekend shifts will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

Works as barista, preparing and serving espresso drinks, teas, other beverages and food items. Accommodates customers in a friendly and attentive manner, while providing consistent and efficient delivery of service. Processes transactions on the POS system. Conducts opening and closing duties, depending on shift. Operates and cleans all equipment daily. Responsible for the health and safety of the store. Maintains cleanliness of work area, seating areas and restrooms regularly throughout the day. Restocks supplies, merchandise, food, and inventory as needed.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in a coffee shop is preferred. Strong knowledge of espresso, coffee and café beverage preparation. Proficient in food safety and prep standards. Willingness to become TIPS Alcohol Certified.

Company Description:

Deco Espresso is a new espresso bar located along West Haven's beach boardwalk. The project is currently under construction with plans to open in late October of 2026. The drink-focused menu highlights specialty espresso and coffee, as well as a variety of other beverages such as smoothies, teas, beer, and wine. The shop will offer a relaxed environment where people can slow down and come together in a design-forward space. Located in a building that is a rare example of 1930s/40s Art Deco and Streamline Modern architecture, it holds historical and local significance as one of the few remaining structures from the Savin Rock Amusement Park era.

Pay:

$18.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
