Job Purpose:

The Barista is responsible for creating and delivering an exceptional Starbucks experience to customers by preparing high-quality coffee and tea beverages, providing outstanding customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role involves working collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient service and uphold Starbucks' commitment to quality and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, adhering to Starbucks recipes and quality standards. Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders accurately, and offering product recommendations. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the coffee bar, equipment, and customer seating areas. Operate coffee-making equipment and perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure optimal performance. Manage cash transactions accurately and efficiently, following all cash handling procedures. Uphold Starbucks' standards of quality, safety, and sustainability in all aspects of work. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment. Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge of Starbucks products and services. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and restocking supplies as needed. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.

Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Experience:

Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred. Experience in food and beverage preparation or handling is an advantage.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and team members. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask efficiently. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and understanding measurements. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to company policies and procedures. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. Capability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending.
