Job Description
Full-Time Café Team Member Food for Thought Organic Café & Natural Market Marathon, Florida Full-time | $16 per hour | Employee benefits available Food for Thought is looking for a dependable, energetic and genuinely friendly person to join our café team full-time. We are an established organic café and natural market serving fresh, scratch-made food, organic coffee and espresso drinks, smoothies, açaí bowls, fresh juices, wellness shots and natural-market products. Our menu serves everyone from traditional meat eaters to vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys helping people, staying active and being part of a close-knit team. Café or barista experience is helpful, but a great attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are equally important. What You'll Do Welcome guests warmly and help create a friendly, positive café experience Take accurate orders and process payments through the Toast POS system Prepare espresso drinks, lattes, coffee, teas and other café beverages Prepare smoothies, fresh juices, wellness shots, açaí bowls and dragon fruit bowls according to Food for Thought recipes Assist with food preparation, plating, food running and packaging takeout orders Learn the menu and help guests navigate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free choices Answer basic questions about café and natural-market products Maintain clean and organized counters, equipment, dining areas and workstations Restock cups, ingredients, grab-and-go items and café supplies Follow recipes, portion standards, food-safety procedures and allergy protocols Assist with opening, closing and end-of-shift responsibilities Communicate stock shortages, equipment problems and guest concerns to management Jump in where needed and support the rest of the team during busy periods What the Workday Feels Like Food for Thought has a steady, active rhythm. Mornings begin with preparation, stocking and getting the café ready for the day. Breakfast and lunch periods can move quickly, with several orders involving coffee, smoothies, juices, bowls and café food coming in at the same time. During busy periods, everyone works together, communicates clearly and moves with purpose. Between rushes, the focus shifts to cleaning, restocking, preparation and helping guests in the natural market. This is not a job where you stand in one place waiting for something to happen. You will move between guests, the register, beverage stations, food service, stocking and cleaning throughout your shift. We care about speed and efficiency, but never at the expense of accuracy, cleanliness or genuine hospitality. What We're Looking For Dependable and punctual Friendly, patient and comfortable speaking with guests Able to stay calm, organized and positive during busy periods Willing to learn recipes, ingredients and menu standards Comfortable receiving feedback and following established procedures Strong attention to cleanliness, presentation and order accuracy Able to work independently while remaining part of the team Available for a full-time schedule, including Saturdays and other shifts based on business needs Comfortable standing and moving for most of the shift Able to bend, reach and safely lift and carry typical café supplies Interested in coffee, healthy food, natural products or hospitality Must be flexible and available to work on Saturdays, and afternoons. Previous café, restaurant, barista, juice-bar, retail or customer-service experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person. Compensation and Benefits $16 per hour Full-time employment Employee benefits available based on eligibility Paid, hands-on training Opportunity to learn specialty coffee, organic food, smoothies, fresh juices, wellness products and natural-market operations Supportive, locally owned workplace with room to grow How to Apply Apply through Indeed with your résumé and current availability. Please include a short note explaining why you would be a good fit for Food for Thought and whether you are available to work Saturdays and afternoons.
