It's part one part coffee shop 3 parts hobby and retail. As a Barista, you'll provide the fuel to keep our guests going as they play and explore in our one of kind RC and Hobby Cafe. We're looking for someone who genuinely lights up around people, takes real pride in a well-crafted drink, and brings the kind of warmth that makes guests want to come back. If you have a passion project outside of work (whether it's espresso craft, scale modeling, RC vehicles, 3D printing, or something else entirely) we want to hear about it. This is a place where your hobbies are part of the job description. Primary Responsibilities Prepare and serve espresso beverages, drip coffee, smoothies, and specialty drinks to recipe spec, consistently, every time.
Engage every guest:
greet them, be present in the interaction, and build genuine relationships with regulars. Maintain a clean, organized workspace that meets health department standards at all times. Complete daily temperature logs, sanitation checks, and opening and closing procedures per SOP.
Monitor and restock cafe inventory:
coffee, milks, syrups, cups, and packaging supplies. Coordinate with RC Tech staff to ensure guests have a seamless experience across the full cafe floor. Communicate equipment issues, inventory needs, and guest feedback to your shift lead promptly. Support a culture where every guest (regular or first-timer) feels immediately welcome. What We're Looking For A genuine love of people and a natural ability to make anyone feel at home the moment they walk in. You're a hobbyist. You're passionate about something (coffee, RC, scale modeling, 3D printing, making in general). All of it matters to us. Barista or food service experience is highly preferred. ServSafe Food Handler certification, or willingness to obtain before your first shift. Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-moving environment while staying detail-oriented and composed. Strong communicator who shows up ready, supports the team, and takes ownership of their section. Starting pay $15 hourly, 25-30 hours per week, Tuesday to Sunday.
