A Barista prepares and serves coffee and other beverages at coffee houses or coffee bars. Takes customer orders, serves baked goods and snacks, runs and maintains coffee making equipment and monitors supplies.
Spread Bagelry is seeking energetic, positive team players to join our team at our Savannah, GA location! Our Team Members are cross-trained across both Barista and Cook stations. Whether you're crafting drinks, building sandwiches, working the line, or connecting with guests, flexibility is a key part of the role. Team Members should be comfortable learning and regularly working in both front- and back-of-house positions based on the needs of the business. Weekend availability is required.
Team Member Core Responsibilities:
Train and maintain proficiency across both Barista and Cook stations, flexing between roles based on business needs Greet guests, take orders, and process payments accurately using our POS Prepare coffee, espresso beverages, and food orders according to recipe cards and presentation standards Dial in espresso equipment and maintain consistent extraction according to established brew ratios Prep food daily and weekly to meet business needs Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked Barista and Cook stations Clean and maintain coffee equipment, kitchen equipment, utensils, tools, and work areas Follow all operating procedures, food safety, sanitation, and hospitality standards Develop a strong understanding of our menu to educate, upsell, and excite guests Communicate and work effectively with teammates to provide great service and maintain an efficient workflow Complete assigned opening and closing procedures accurately and efficiently Stay productive during downtime by cleaning, stocking, and preparing for upcoming business Report operational issues or needs to the Manager in a timely manner
Qualifications:
Previous Barista, Line Cook, or restaurant/hospitality experience preferred Willing and able to train and regularly work across both Barista and Cook stations Passion for customer service and creating a welcoming guest experience Flexible and team-oriented, with the ability to move between roles based on business needs Able to balance speed, quality, and hospitality in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail with a commitment to consistent food and beverage quality Reliable, organized, and able to stay productive during downtime Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills Commitment to maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs. Weekend availability is required
