Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team at Amana Colonies Bakery & Coffee Cafe Monday-Sunday 8am-530/630pm and festival/holiday weekends. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced café environment. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, making sandwiches, finishing baked goods, maintaining a clean workspace, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and standards. Engage with customers to take orders, provide recommendations, and ensure an enjoyable experience. Operate the POS system efficiently to process transactions accurately. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment and utensils. Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards in all food handling practices. Assist with food preparation as needed, ensuring quality and presentation meet café standards. Manage inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies to ensure availability. Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and enhance overall service delivery. Requirements Previous experience in food service or café environment is preferred but not required. Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment is a plus. Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell menu items effectively. Basic math skills for handling transactions and cash management. Familiarity with food safety regulations and practices is essential. Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor towards customers. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
