Base Pay:

$15.00.

Please note:

$16-$26 includes tips and is pulled from several months of barista tip averages. Actual hourly pay fluctuates. Like any hospitality position involving tips, the baristas that care about the space, care about customer experience and care about their fellow employees typically earn higher wages. Better service leads to happier customers, more revenue for the business, and higher pay for employees.

Schedule :

6-25 hrs/wk (current cafe hours are M-F 6:15a-9p, and S/Su 6:15a-5p). This is currently a position that would start at one day a week and move to additional hours within the next couple months while we implement programming that will keep the cafe open longer on the weekdays. Although schedules are kept as consistent as possible, some flexibility is required to accommodate staff needs and wants as well as changing cafe operations.

Daily Operations:

We are a small cafe adjacent to a restaurant. We currently have a team of only 4-5 baristas, with baristas generally working alone on the weekdays. You are the face of the cafe, you represent the culture of the entire business, and will be responsible for more than you would be in a corporate environment. Duties include but are not limited to: making and running drinks to the diner, stocking retail, cleaning, adapting to rotating menus and inventory. We serve alcoholic beverages to 21+ guests in addition to standard cafe drinks. Basic knowledge of alcohol is a plus.

Overall Cafe Development:

We are new enough to be actively developing. Be flexible for ongoing changes and shifting duties related to event programming. Comfort with change and self motivation is a MUST.

This role is best suited to someone who enjoys helping shape a growing business, can adapt quickly, and is comfortable working in an environment where change is constant and structure is being developed.
