Duties Prepare and serve a variety of beverages including coffee, espresso drinks, smoothies, and specialty drinks with attention to quality and presentation. Serve a selection of ice cream flavors and toppings efficiently and courteously to meet customer preferences. Operate Square POS systems for accurate cash handling and transaction processing. Manage cash register operations including cash handling, credit card processing, and balancing registers at shift end. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders accurately, and upselling menu items to enhance sales. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in food preparation areas, dining spaces, and service counters following food safety guidelines. Assist with food preparation tasks such as restocking, simple cleaning task or preparing waffle bowls to ensure quick service during busy hours. Handle food safety protocols including proper food handling, sanitation practices, and adhering to health regulations. Support cleaning tables, cleaning workstations, restocking supplies, and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the shop. Engage in effective time management to prioritize tasks during peak hours while maintaining high-quality service standards. Contribute to a welcoming environment by fostering positive interactions with customers and team members alike. Requirements Previous experience in food service or retail environments is preferred; culinary or café experience is a plus. Strong skills in food preparation, cashiering, upselling, and customer service are essential for success in this role. Basic math skills for cash handling, register balancing, and retail math calculations are required. Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices within quick service or fast-food restaurants is highly desirable. Ability to stand for extended periods while performing duties efficiently; quick reflexes for order accuracy are important. Excellent communication skills coupled with a friendly attitude to create positive guest experiences. Demonstrated time management skills to handle high-volume periods smoothly without compromising quality or safety.
