COMMUNITY MARKETING & CATERING COORDINATOR / STORE ASSOCIATE
Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream & 1832Brew Espresso BarCarmel, Indiana Pay:
$17-$18 per hour, based on experience, plus pooled tips and monthly performance bonus potentialHours:
Approximately 30-35 hours per week, including in-store shifts, administrative/marketing time, occasional evenings, weekends and off-site catering events. Position Overview We are looking for an outgoing, creative and highly organized person to help grow our locally owned ice cream and coffee shop. This is a hands-on position combining social media, promotions, community engagement, catering coordination and customer service. The person in this role will spend part of each week working alongside the team inside the store and part of the week developing promotions, building local relationships and coordinating catering opportunities. This is not a general manager or employee-supervision position. The owners retain responsibility for hiring decisions, employee discipline, payroll, taxes and staff scheduling. Primary Responsibilities Social Media and Content Create and maintain a consistent social media posting schedule. Photograph and video drinks, ice cream, employees, catering events and store activities. Create posts, short videos, stories and promotional content. Promote seasonal products, events, catering and community partnerships. Respond appropriately to basic social media comments and messages. Maintain an organized library of current photos and videos. Track which posts and promotions generate customer engagement and sales. Marketing and Promotions Help create a monthly promotional calendar. Develop ideas for seasonal specials, customer events, fundraisers and in-store promotions. Coordinate promotional materials and ensure campaigns are launched on time. Work within approved pricing, discount and marketing guidelines. Track promotional results and recommend which ideas should be repeated or adjusted. Present new promotional ideas to the owners for approval. Community Engagement and Local Partnerships Build relationships with Carmel businesses, schools, apartment communities, nonprofits and community organizations. Identify opportunities for cross-promotions, employee-appreciation events, fundraisers and local collaborations. Represent the store professionally at community events. Maintain a contact list and follow-up schedule for prospective community partners. Look for opportunities to make Sub Zero and 1832 Brew more visible and involved in the Carmel community. Catering Coordination Respond promptly and professionally to catering inquiries. Explain available packages and provide approved pricing information. Maintain the catering inquiry and event calendar. Gather event details, confirm orders and communicate deadlines. Coordinate event logistics with the owners and store team. Prepare supplies and products needed for events. Work at on-site and off-site catering events as scheduled. Follow up with customers after events and encourage repeat bookings. Track catering leads, completed events and catering revenue. Refer custom pricing, discounts, contracts and unusual requests to the owners for approval. In-Store Responsibilities Work approximately 20-25 hours per week as part of normal store coverage. Prepare and serve ice cream, coffee, energy drinks and other menu items. Provide friendly, efficient customer service. Maintain cleanliness, sanitation and product-quality standards. Restock products and assist with opening or closing responsibilities. Help promote catering, loyalty programs and current specials to customers. Model dependable, professional behavior while working alongside the team. This Position Does Not Include Creating the employee schedule Processing payroll or taxes Hiring or terminating employees Issuing employee discipline Setting employee wages Managing confidential employee matters Independently approving discounts, contracts or major expenses Acting as the store's general manager Qualifications Experience with social media content, marketing, events, hospitality or customer service Strong written and verbal communication Friendly and comfortable introducing the business to community partners Organized and able to manage multiple event details and deadlines Comfortable taking photos and creating short-form video content Dependable transportation for local outreach and catering events Willingness to work in the store, not solely from home Ability to work independently while following owner-approved budgets, pricing and brand standards Restaurant, coffee, catering or event experience is preferred but not required Performance Expectations Success in this position will be measured through: Consistent and professional social media activity Timely execution of monthly promotions New community contacts and collaborations Catering inquiries, bookings and repeat customers Growth in catering and store sales Dependability and successful completion of scheduled store shifts Accurate event communication and organization Professional representation of both brands Monthly Bonus Potential The employee may earn a monthly company-paid performance bonus based on measurable results, including promotion execution, community outreach, catering growth, sales growth and completion of assigned responsibilities. Bonus eligibility does not guarantee a bonus and is subject to company performance requirements.Pay:
