Job Description
Position Summary The Library Café Associate at Roar N' Pour Library Café is responsible for providing efficient, high-quality food and beverage service in a university library. This role prepares breakfast and lunch paninis, crafts hot and cold coffee beverages, and maintains a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace. Associates play a key role in creating a welcoming café experience while supporting smooth operations during peak morning and lunch service periods.
Key Responsibilities Food Preparation:
- Prepare breakfast and lunch paninis according to café recipes and food safety standards
- Properly heat, assemble, and package food items for service
- Monitor food quality, portioning, and presentation
Beverage Preparation:
- Prepare hot and cold coffee beverages, including brewed coffee, iced coffee, cold brew, and specialty non-espresso beverages and smoothies
- Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistency and quality
- Properly handle milk, syrups, and other beverage ingredients Customer Service
- Greet guests in a friendly, professional manner and provide efficient service
- Accurately take orders and process transactions
- Maintain a welcoming, respectful atmosphere appropriate for a library setting Cleanliness & Sanitation
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout each shift
- Clean and sanitize all equipment, including coffee brewers, panini presses, blenders, and refrigerators
- Complete daily, weekly, opening, and closing cleaning tasks according to café and health department standards
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines Operations & Teamwork
- Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned
- Stock supplies, rotate product, and communicate low inventory needs to leadership
- Work collaboratively with team members to support high-volume service periods
- Accept coaching and feedback to improve performance and efficiency Qualifications
- Previous food service or coffee experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Dependable and punctual Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Frequent reaching, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs
- Ability to safely work around hot equipment and beverages Hours of Operation & Availability

Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM- 2:00 PM
Required Availability:
