This is not a traditional barista position. We are looking for someone who has always wanted to open their own coffee shop, understands great coffee and espresso, enjoys interacting with customers, and is excited by the opportunity to take ownership of an entire coffee operation. Our plan is to open BabyCat for coffee and espresso service from 6:00 AM-10:00 AM, seven days a week. We will provide the location, equipment, existing business infrastructure, and opportunity. We are looking for the right person to take ownership of the coffee side of the business and make it successful. For the right person, we are open to discussing a compensation structure that could include competitive pay, profit sharing, and/or an equity opportunity in the BabyCat Coffee portion of the business. What You'll Be Responsible For You will essentially operate BabyCat Coffee as your own shop within our existing business.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing and serving high-quality espresso drinks, coffee, and other beverages Operating a commercial espresso machine and grinder Dialing in espresso and maintaining consistent drink quality Creating and refining the coffee and espresso menu Providing friendly, engaging customer service Developing relationships with regular customers and helping build a morning coffee community Ordering coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, lids, and other supplies Managing inventory and determining appropriate par levels Monitoring product costs and minimizing waste Maintaining a clean, organized coffee service area Cleaning and maintaining the espresso machine, grinders, brewers, and related equipment Opening the coffee operation each morning and properly closing it after service Developing operating procedures for the coffee program Helping establish pricing, portioning, recipes, and service standards Identifying opportunities to increase sales and improve the customer experience Taking real ownership of the success and growth of BabyCat Coffee As the business grows, this role could also include hiring, training, scheduling, and managing additional baristas. Who We're Looking For The ideal person is someone who thinks like an owner rather than simply an employee. You should be comfortable making decisions, solving problems, working independently, and taking responsibility for the entire coffee operation. Commercial espresso experience is required. You must have previous hands-on experience preparing espresso drinks using a commercial espresso machine. This position is not intended as an entry-level barista training position. We are especially interested in someone who: Has significant barista or coffee shop experience Understands espresso extraction, milk steaming, drink preparation, and grinder adjustment Has dreamed about opening or operating their own coffee shop Is entrepreneurial and self-motivated Enjoys building something from the beginning Has excellent customer service and communication skills Is organized and dependable Understands the importance of cleanliness and equipment maintenance Is comfortable managing inventory and ordering Can work independently without constant supervision Takes pride in consistency and quality Understands that growing a new coffee business requires experimentation, creativity, and persistence Schedule BabyCat Coffee will operate: 6:00 AM-10:00 AM 7 days per week The person taking this role will be heavily involved in establishing the initial operation and schedule. As sales grow, additional baristas may be hired and trained to support the program.
