Job Description
Overview The Honeycomb Cafe is a LGBTQ owned and operated business hiring for an experienced barista to join our team. This is a very fast paced position and it requires someone who can multi task and prioritize responsibilities to provide our customers with quick, excellent service. Hourly is $18 but it is a guaranteed $23/hr minimum with tips Weekends required Responsibilities Prepare and serve espresso drinks, tea, and smoothies, ensuring quality and consistency. This position requires knowledge of how to use a manual espresso machine and be familiar with how to adjust the grinder as needed to produce perfectly times shots. Operate POS to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently. Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders, answering questions about menu items, and ensuring satisfaction. Maintain cleanliness of the café area by regularly cleaning equipment, counters, and seating areas in accordance with food safety standards. Handle cash transactions with precision, process payments, give correct change, and balance cash drawers at shift end. Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining high-quality standards. Qualifications Previous barista experience is required Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and processing transactions accurately. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
