Job Overview Join our vibrant café team as a dedicated and energetic Barista! In this role, you will be the welcoming face of our establishment, crafting high-quality coffee beverages and providing exceptional customer service. Whether you're preparing specialty drinks, handling transactions, or maintaining a clean and organized workspace, your contribution will be vital to delivering an outstanding café experience. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in the food and beverage industry while working in a lively, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and flair Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS efficiently for order processing and cash handling Provide friendly, attentive customer service to ensure guest satisfaction from ordering to payment Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation surfaces and equipment Handle food safety protocols and food handling procedures in accordance with health regulations Manage cash register operations accurately, including basic math calculations for transactions and change Assist in food preparation tasks such as assembling snacks or light menu items when needed Support sales goals by promoting menu items and upselling where appropriate Ensure all food industry standards are met through diligent food safety practices and proper food handling techniques Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining quality standards Qualifications Previous barista experience or background in coffee service is highly preferred Familiarity with POS systems Square is advantageous Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and excellent communication abilities Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling, retail math, and sales transactions Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures Experience in serving or food preparation within a café or retail environment is desirable Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours Basic understanding of food industry standards related to cleanliness, safety, and hygiene Embark on a rewarding journey with us where your energy fuels memorable guest experiences.
