Barista

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Barista to join our team at our trendy coffee shop. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee and customer service, with the ability to create a welcoming environment for our guests. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. It is also very fast-paced at moments, so you must be able to have a good memory and move fast. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items in accordance with established recipes and standards. Operate the square POS system efficiently for order processing and cash handling. Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their needs promptly. Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including workstations, equipment, and dining areas to adhere to food safety standards. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, supplies, and food items. Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and sales transactions accurately. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours. Engage with customers to promote menu items and enhance sales opportunities. Experience Previous barista experience or experience in the food service industry is preferred. Familiarity with coffee preparation techniques and knowledge of various coffee types is a plus. Proficiency in using POS systems such as square is beneficial. Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele. Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications are essential.
