Overview Join The Mule Team as a Part Time Cafe Team Member and be one of the friendly faces that creates a welcoming environment for every guest! In this role, you'll be will be cross-trained in both front-of-house and back-of-house skills and responsibilities. Our ideal mule team candidate likes coffee, is positive, reliable, motivated, has high standards for quality and will make guests and teammates feel welcome. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service throughout their visit Take orders accurately using Square POS system ensuring smooth retail sales transactions Prepare and help serve coffee and specialty drinks following La Mulita standard recipes and quality levels Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including counters, equipment, and seating areas, adhering to food safety standards Restock supplies regularly to ensure product availability and presentation quality Slice, grate, dice, shred, cook, etc. food menu ingredients Assist in food handling tasks such as toasting bagels, making flavored cream cheese and ensuring proper food safety procedures are followed Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly and maintain a positive atmosphere Assist with completing open and close checklists and other miscellaneous tasks each day. Qualifications Year-round availability, early mornings, 4-5 days per week, to include one weekend day One year of experience in the hospitality industry preferred and a strong background and emphasis on customer service Exhibit strong communication skills that allow you to engage with guests authentically Able to be composed yet flexible in a fast-paced, highly social environment Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs.) Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift during the shift Able to perform repeat motions with hands and wrists Compensation Starting pay: $15/hour + tips (average $10-$12/hour) Paid vacation (2 weeks) after a year of work Free coffee drinks during shift Discounts on food, beverages and retail items off-shift Schedule Mornings until 2 pm Friday, Saturday, Monday, Tuesday with possibility of additional hours on Wed, Thursday.
