About Rising For People Coffee Co. Rising For People Coffee Co. is a women-owned and veteran-owned specialty café and roastery at 121 Vesta St in Midtown Reno. We roast our coffee in Reno, source farm-direct, and give 15% of our weekly profits to a different Northern Nevada nonprofit through our 52 Weeks

• 52 Change Makers program. We are building a team that cares about great coffee, great food, and the community we serve. Overview You will set the tone behind our bar by crafting espresso drinks, specialty lattes, and our signature flights with consistency and care. As a lead, you will guide baristas during shifts, maintain station standards, support training, and step in to solve problems when things get busy. You will help keep the bar stocked, clean, and ready for every rush. We are looking for at least one year of specialty coffee experience, strong espresso skills, and a warm, welcoming presence with guests. Weekend availability is required. Responsibilities Oversee daily cafe operations, including food preparation, service, and cleanliness Manage staff scheduling, training, and development to ensure efficient team performance Supervise food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and cash handling Control inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly Lead shift management by coordinating team efforts during busy hours to maintain smooth operations Implement and monitor food production processes to uphold quality standards in casual dining or fine dining settings Coordinate catering events or banquet services as needed Uphold hospitality standards by creating an inviting environment for guests and staff alike Experience Proven management experience within the food service industry, including supervising teams in quick service or fast food restaurants Strong background in food preparation, kitchen management, and food safety practices Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience required Experience with inventory control, budgeting, and cost management within a restaurant or hospitality setting Prior roles involving staff training & development, shift management, and customer service excellence are highly desirable Background in casual dining, fine dining, catering, or hotel food service environments is preferred Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a positive work environment Knowledge of culinary techniques and food industry standards will be advantageous for success in this role
