An established and welcoming café in the Commack area of Long Island is seeking an experienced Café Associate for a part-time position.

Expected Hours:

20-30 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

Greet customers and provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service Take customer orders and accurately operate the POS system and cash register Prepare coffee, espresso drinks, milk tea, specialty beverages, and simple food items according to standardized recipes Serve bakery and food items and properly package takeout orders Restock ingredients, cups, food items, and other service supplies Monitor inventory and notify the person in charge when supplies are running low Keep the service counter, dining area, preparation area, equipment, tables, floors, and restroom clean and organized Complete opening, shift-change, and closing duties Follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures Work cooperatively with other team members during busy periods

Requirements:

Previous hands-on experience in a café, coffee shop, bubble tea shop, bakery, restaurant, or similar food-service business is strongly preferred Experience using a POS system and handling customer payments is preferred Experience preparing coffee, tea, specialty beverages, or simple food items is preferred Friendly, dependable, responsible, and punctual Able to communicate clearly with customers and coworkers Able to work efficiently during busy periods Able to learn and consistently follow standardized recipes Able to maintain a clean and organized work area Available to work weekday and/or weekend shifts Able to reliably commute to Commack, New York Must already be legally authorized to work in the United States Students are welcome to apply if they already have valid U.S. employment authorization applicable to this position.
