FOH Associate Tarrytown Local - Tarrytown, NY Tarrytown Local is a new chef-led cafe and grocery store opening in Tarrytown, NY in Summer 2026. Our mission is to foster holistic eating for personal, planetary, and community well-being. Every ingredient we use, produce, grains, oil, salt, and sugar, etc, is sourced intentionally from farmers and producers we know and trust. We are looking for a FOH Associate to join our founding team. This role will work directly alongside our Front of House Manager to execute excellent service in the restaurant and grocery, with significant opportunity for growth and creative input. The right candidate will help restaurant and grocery service by seating guests, taking orders, running food, and performing overall table maintenance in a warm and welcome manner. It's imperative to understand our comprehensive culinary program that is deeply connected to the local food system and driven by healthful, sustainable ingredients. Initially, the grocery will be open from 8am-8pm, and the restaurant will be open for breakfast and lunch service, Wednesday through Sunday. We may expand restaurant service into breakfast and into dinner, but staff will not be expected to work double shifts. The menu and grocery offerings will change day-to-day, so flexibility, curiosity, and attention to ingredients is essential. What You'll Do Execute daily restaurant service alongside other FOH staff members Provide excellent service for all restaurant and grocery guests Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout customer facing areas Assist in keeping the grocery fully stocked Assist in checking out grocery customers and responding to customer questions in an engaging manner Seek to learn about all the ingredients and products we use, as well as how, where, and why we source them What We're Looking For Our priorities are passion, mission-alignment, and drive over specific experience. The ingredients we use in the kitchen are the same ingredients we sell in the grocery store.

Compensation & Schedule Hourly Rate:
$17-18/hr + tips
Expected Schedule:
Approximately 20 - 40 hours/week Typical schedule may look like: Wednesday-Sunday 8am-4pm; 12pm-8pm - early and late shifts may be necessary for opening, closing shifts. Part time roles are also available.

August 2026 About the Team Tarrytown Local is led by Culinary Director & Executive Chef Fox Schanzer and Operator Steve Wazny, who are both owners of the project. The store is built around the idea that great food should benefit personal, planetary, and community health. We are building a small, strong founding team that wants to grow with the company and help shape the culture and direction of the business from the ground up.
