Cosmopolis Coffee is opening a cafe! We're hiring a team of baristas to be part of the launch!

As a Barista you are expected to provide superior hospitality and specialty coffee service. Your key responsibility is to work as part of a small but mighty team. Candidates will be chosen for this position because of their experience and teamwork capacity. Knowledge, background, and experience working in coffee preparation and hospitality environmentsPassionate about providing elevated levels of hospitalityAble to follow instructions and recipesAble to multi-taskStrong organization and attention to detailStrong communication skillsBasic knowledge of math and computation skillsAble to maintain a clean and organized work environmentAble to obtain Oregon Food Handlers permitRESPONSIBILITIESPerform barista tasks during scheduled shifts, such as preparing drinks, providing an outstanding guest experience, operating point of sale, stocking products, and cleaning barMaintain coffee knowledge as it pertains to brewing and Cosmopolis coffee menuKnow origins and descriptions of coffees available and communicate knowledge to guestsMaintain knowledge of the pastries and other retail items Execute hospitality guidelinesEnsure proper food-handling procedures, sanitation, and cleanliness in food service areasEnsure organization, stocking, and cleanliness of the bar and seating areasDishwashingWORK CONDITIONSStand and walk for extended periods of timeBend and stoop to grasp objectsBend and twist neck and waistReach above and below shoulders and squattingBend and lift heavy loads, not to exceed 50 pounds.
