$16.00 per hour, plus tips during barista shifts Position Overview Bajah's Cat Cafe is looking for a dependable, highly flexible team member who can be cross-trained in two separate positions: Barista and Cat Room Cleaner. This is primarily a pickup and fill-in position. You may be contacted when an employee calls out, takes time off, or goes on vacation. You will be scheduled for either a barista shift or a cat room cleaning shift—not both positions during the same shift. Hours are not guaranteed and may vary from week to week. However, this position could develop into a regular part-time role if an opening becomes available. This is a great opportunity for someone with a flexible schedule who would like to get their foot in the door and become part of our team. Barista Responsibilities Prepare and serve coffee, tea, specialty drinks, and café food items Operate the POS system and accurately process cash and card payments Provide friendly and helpful customer service Maintain a clean and organized café, including counters, equipment, food preparation areas, and seating areas Follow all food safety, sanitation, and handwashing procedures Restock supplies and complete assigned opening, closing, and cleaning tasks Work efficiently and independently during busy periods Cat Room Cleaner Responsibilities Clean and sanitize the cat room and all cat-related areas Scoop and clean litter boxes Wash food and water dishes and replenish supplies as directed Complete cat-related laundry and other daily cleaning tasks Monitor the cats for changes in behavior, eating, drinking, or litter box use Follow all cleaning, sanitation, and animal-safety procedures Inform management immediately of any concerns involving the cats Work carefully, thoroughly, and independently around the cats Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old Must have highly flexible availability, including some early mornings, weekdays, weekends, and occasional short-notice shifts Must be dependable and willing to fill in for employee callouts, vacations, and time-off requests Barista, café, food service, cleaning, or animal-care experience is preferred but not required Must be comfortable working around cats and cleaning litter boxes and animal-related messes Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete tasks without constant supervision Reliable transportation and the ability to arrive on time Willingness to be trained for two separate roles and maintain the standards required for each Because this is a fill-in position, the ideal candidate will be someone with a genuinely flexible schedule who is comfortable with changing hours and does not require a guaranteed number of weekly shifts.
