Job Description
Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team this coming October! Overwatch Coffee Company is a new startup coffee shop in Beaufort, SC that has a military theme and is tailored to the military, first responder, and blue collar worker communities. Overwatch Coffee will be operating out of an enclosed trailer for the first few months and be serving customers in multiple areas around the Beaufort area including Parris Island Marine Corps base, Port Royal and other locations. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee, aligns with our Company's core values, learns skills quickly, and is commitments to providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced café environment. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean workspace, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and food items with precision and care. Operate the Toast POS systems efficiently for order processing and cash handling. Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and serving areas. Adhere to food safety standards and regulations to ensure the highest quality of food handling practices. Manage time effectively to handle multiple tasks during peak hours while maintaining quality service. Assist in inventory management, including restocking supplies as needed. Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and efficiency. Experience Previous barista experience or experience in the food service industry is preferred but not required. Familiarity with coffee preparation techniques and equipment is a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests. Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications. Knowledge of food safety practices and food handling regulations is essential. Experience using POS systems such as Clover, Aloha or Micros is advantageous but can be learned on the job.
