Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and provide attentive, friendly service to ensure an enjoyable experience. Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and chocolate drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and care. Operate our Square POS system for accurate order processing and cash handling. Manage food safety standards by following proper food handling, preparation, and packaging procedures. Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including counters, tables, and equipment, adhering to health regulations. Assist with food preparation tasks, ensuring timely delivery of quality products to customers. Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashing out customers and balancing registers at shift end. Support sales efforts by engaging with customers about menu items and upselling when appropriate. Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality. Experience Previous barista experience or background in food service is highly desirable. Familiarity with Square POS system enhances efficiency in order processing. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with diverse guests. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures is essential. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and accurate register balancing. Experience in serving or café environments helps in managing high-volume periods smoothly. Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
