Barista Jewish Community Center Of Dallas - 2.8 Dallas, TX Job Details Part-time $15 - $17 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Food Handler Certification Full Job Description Join the JCC coffee shop team as a Barista. You'll prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and other beverages while creating a welcoming experience for every customer. You'll join a supportive team that values hospitality, collaboration, and quality. If you enjoy working with people and take pride in creating a welcoming café experience, we encourage you to apply. Previous barista or café experience is preferred but not required. We will provide training for the right candidates who are dependable, eager to learn, and committed to excellent customer service. This is a part-time, non-exempt position without benefits. The schedule will not exceed 29 hours a week. The Jewish Community Center is an EOE (Equal Opportunity Employer). Responsibilities Prepare espresso drinks, brewed coffee, iced coffee, tea, and other beverages. Follow recipes and portion standards to maintain consistent quality. Welcome customers, take orders, answer menu questions, and process payments. Keep the coffee bar, service counter, and customer areas clean and organized at all times. Restock cups, lids, syrups, milk, coffee, and other supplies. Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements. Complete opening and closing tasks. Monitor inventory and communicate restocking needs to the manager or shift lead. Receive and organize deliveries and supplies as needed. Assist with light food preparation, pastry displays, and other café items. Work collaboratively with Food Services team members. Support other café and Food Services tasks as needed. Qualifications Customer service, restaurant, café, or barista experience is strongly preferred. Friendly, respectful, and welcoming approach to customers and coworkers. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn beverage preparation, recipes, equipment, and payment systems. Ability to work in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail. Commitment to cleanliness, food safety, and quality. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift approximately 25-30 pounds. Food Handler Certification required or must be obtained after hire. Availability for scheduled weekday and/or weekend shifts. Professional in appearance, manner and tone. A team player who possesses the ability to work in a collaborative environment. The Barista will be a collaborator as part of the JCC Professional Staff. He/she must be aware of the JCC Mission Statement and work within the framework of that mission. Responsibilities of the job may change as the needs of the JCC and/or community change.
