Job Summary We're excited to announce that Open Door Coffee House will be opening on Mon-Sat on October 5th! Open Door exists to be a warm, welcoming place for our community to gather, connect, and enjoy great coffee. We do not want to be just another coffee shop. We want to serve coffee with a purpose. Every hand crafted drink we serve, provides three meals for undernourished children around the world through our partnership with Feed My Starving Children. We are changing the world one cup at a time. As we prepare for launch, we're also looking to hire a few part-time baristas to join the Open Door team. No prior coffee experience is required, we're happy to train the right people. If you're friendly, reliable, and enjoy serving others, this could be a great fit. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks using espresso machines and other equipment. Handle food preparation tasks including food safety practices, serving, and basic food handling. Operate Square POS system for order processing and cash handling. Manage cash register transactions accurately, including cash handling and retail math calculations. Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including cleaning equipment, counters, and dining spaces in accordance with food safety standards. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing inquiries or concerns promptly. Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely order completion. Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed. Uphold food safety standards and proper food handling procedures at all times. Qualifications Previous barista experience or background in the food industry is preferred. Familiarity with POS systems such as Square POS is a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours. Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food preparation techniques is a plus. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as needed.
