Job Description
In this energetic role, you will craft delicious non-alcoholic beverages, deliver exceptional customer service, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere for every guest. Whether you're an experienced barista or just starting your journey in the food service industry, this position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, learn about coffee and beverage preparation, and grow within a dynamic team. All roles are paid positions and eligible for tips sharing. We are a neighborhood Coffee Shop/Cafe, so customer care is of utmost importance Duties Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including coffee, tea, smoothies, and specialty drinks with precision and care Operate POS systems such as Toast POS to process retail sales transactions efficiently and accurately Greet customers warmly, take orders, and provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive experience Maintain cleanliness of the café area by regularly cleaning equipment, counters, and seating areas in accordance with food safety standards Handle cash transactions accurately, process payments, and give correct change using basic math skills Assist with food handling and food preparation tasks to support overall café operations Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining quality standards Requirements Previous experience in food service or café environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated trainees Familiarity with beverage preparation techniques and coffee experience is a plus Knowledge of POS systems such as Toast POS or Square POS is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be available Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally Basic math skills for cash handling and processing transactions accurately Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift moderate weights, and perform cleaning duties as needed Commitment to food safety practices and proper food handling procedures Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours Morning shifts start at 6:45am.
