We're looking for energetic, dependable, customer-focused individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and take pride in providing exceptional service. As a Smoothie Barista, you'll prepare smoothies, espresso drinks, sandwiches, breakfast items, and other menu offerings while delivering outstanding customer service. You'll help maintain a clean, organized café and work as part of a team dedicated to quality, consistency, and hospitality. Responsibilities Customer Service Welcome every customer with a friendly, positive attitude. Provide exceptional service from greeting through checkout. Answer menu questions and make recommendations. Accurately take customer orders. Resolve customer concerns professionally and respectfully. Help create a fun, welcoming atmosphere for guests and coworkers. Food & Beverage Preparation Prepare smoothies according to company recipes and quality standards. Prepare espresso drinks, coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks. Prepare breakfast sandwiches, wraps, paninis, salads, and other food items. Ensure every product meets presentation and quality expectations. Follow portion control standards to maintain consistency and food cost goals. Food Safety & Sanitation Follow all Washington State Department of Health food safety regulations. Practice proper handwashing and glove use. Monitor food temperatures and storage procedures. Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment. Complete daily cleaning and sanitation tasks. Report food safety concerns immediately. Cash Handling & POS Operate the point-of-sale system accurately. Process cash, credit card, gift card, and mobile payments. Balance cash drawer when assigned. Maintain accuracy while working efficiently. Cleaning & Organization Wash dishes and utensils throughout the shift. Restock ingredients and supplies. Clean dining room, restrooms, counters, equipment, and workstations. Sweep, mop, and maintain overall cleanliness. Keep storage areas organized and stocked. Teamwork Support coworkers during busy periods. Communicate effectively with managers and teammates. Arrive prepared and ready to work. Maintain a positive attitude during busy rushes. Help train new team members when requested. Opening & Closing Duties Depending on scheduled shift: Set up smoothie station and food prep areas. Brew coffee and prepare ingredients. Stock coolers and displays. Complete opening or closing cleaning checklists. Secure equipment and complete end-of-day procedures. Qualifications Required Minimum 18 years of age. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Previous food service or coffee shop experience. Smoothie, café, restaurant, or customer service experience. Washington State Food Worker Card (or ability to obtain one within required timeframes). Physical Requirements This position regularly requires: Standing for extended periods. Lifting up to 40 pounds. Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and carrying. Working around commercial kitchen equipment. Performing repetitive motions while preparing beverages and food. Working efficiently during high-volume periods.
