Position Overview Carefree Spirits Distillery is seeking a passionate, professional, and engaging Mixologist & Brand Ambassador to join our team. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about craft spirits, eager to master our signature cocktail recipes, and committed to creating a memorable guest experience in our Cave Creek tasting room. This role also represents Carefree Bourbon and Chakra Vodka at festivals, promotional events, industry gatherings, and scheduled tastings at on-premise accounts such as bars and restaurants and off-premise retail locations. The right person is equally comfortable crafting a polished cocktail, guiding a spirit tasting, sharing brand stories, preparing fresh ingredients, and stepping into an off-site event with professionalism and energy. Key Responsibilities Tasting Room Service & Cocktail Preparation Prepare and serve handcrafted cocktails featuring Carefree Bourbon and Chakra Vodka according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. Prepare fresh ingredients, including house-made syrups, tinctures, infusions, garnishes, and other cocktail components. Deliver prompt, attentive, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic service that encourages repeat visits and positive recommendations. Guide guests through spirit tastings and clearly explain product flavor profiles, cocktail applications, brand stories, and approved production information. Maintain a clean, organized, polished, and welcoming bar and tasting room environment throughout each shift. Assist with opening and closing procedures, point-of-sale transactions, cash handling, side work, cleaning, and end-of-shift responsibilities. Assist with inventory counts, restocking, product displays, glassware, bar supplies, ingredients, and retail merchandise. Follow established recipes, service procedures, responsible-service standards, and direction from the Tasting Room & Hospitality Manager. Off-Site Events & Brand Representation Represent Carefree Bourbon and Chakra Vodka at scheduled festivals, retail tastings, restaurant or bar events, community events, promotional activations, and industry gatherings throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area and surrounding region. Conduct compliant product sampling while engaging consumers, hospitality professionals, retail staff, and other event attendees in a friendly and informative manner. Set up and break down tasting tables, branded displays, sampling materials, products, supplies, and event equipment. Track product used, bottles sold when applicable, guest feedback, event activity, and other information required for post-event reporting. Maintain accurate possession and control of products, tasting supplies, signage, licenses, and company materials while traveling to and working events. Support prospective-account or sales-team tastings when assigned and coordinated by the Tasting Room & Hospitality Manager. Represent the company professionally and consistently follow approved brand messaging, dress standards, alcohol-sampling requirements, and event procedures. Teamwork, Reliability & Compliance Communicate availability, scheduling needs, supply shortages, guest concerns, and operational issues promptly to the Tasting Room & Hospitality Manager. Collaborate with tasting room colleagues and event staff to provide consistent coverage and a seamless guest experience. Complete required training in product knowledge, cocktail execution, responsible alcohol service, guest safety, and company procedures. Follow all Arizona alcohol-service requirements, health and safety standards, company policies, and applicable event or venue regulations. Arrive on time, prepared, professionally presented, and ready to work independently when assigned to an off-site tasting or event. Qualifications Previous experience in bartending, mixology, tasting room service, restaurant hospitality, or a closely related guest-facing environment is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a natural ability to engage, educate, and welcome diverse audiences. Ability to learn and consistently execute cocktail recipes, product information, tasting procedures, and approved brand talking points. Ability to work independently at off-site events and collaboratively as part of the tasting room team. Must be at least 21 years old and hold or obtain Arizona Title 4 alcohol-service certification. Valid driver license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area for scheduled events and tastings. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, special events, and occasional regional travel. Ability to remain on one's feet for extended periods and safely lift and carry approximately 30 to 40 pounds. Preferred Attributes Genuine interest in craft spirits, cocktail culture, hospitality, and guest education. Experience working festivals, retail tastings, promotional events, private events, or other brand-ambassador assignments. Knowledge of bourbon, vodka, classic cocktails, spirit tasting, and responsible beverage service. Professional, dependable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking direction and accountability. A warm, polished presence with the confidence to engage groups while remaining attentive to individual guests. Cocktails and tastings are prepared consistently, accurately, safely, and in alignment with brand standards. The bar, tasting room, event displays, products, and supplies remain organized, clean, and well maintained. Assigned shifts and events are covered reliably, with clear communication and timely reporting.
