Job Description

We are seeking a 1 Full-Time restaurant server / bartender to join our Food and Beverage team. The correct candidate will have previous bartender experience. Weekend availability is required and shifts will be both morning and evening depending on the day of the week. Our restaurant servers display the knowledge and skill required to provide an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Friendly, warm and gracious, this role is the liaison between the culinary team and the guest, and makes sure all guest expectations are exceeded, while ensuring the Hotel's high quality standards are met. Greets all guests in a friendly manner. Presents menus to the guest, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service. Recites order back to the guest and ask questions regarding guests preference of preparation in order to ensure guest satisfaction. Follow all safety, hygiene and cleanliness protocols at all times. Writes order on check or memorizes it. Enters orders into the Point of Sale system. Relays order to kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and service bars. Creates cocktails and serves beer and wine Recites specials of the day clearly and concisely, describing their preparation. Regularly monitors station to ensure all guest needs are met. Observes his/her stations to respond to any additional requests and to determine when the meal has been completed. Totals bill and accept payment and makes change for the guest if necessary. Ladles soup, tosses salads, portions desserts, brews coffee, etc. according to Hotel standards. Totals all receipts at the end of the shift, balances all cash and submits cash drop with all required paperwork. Assist or be primary server for Banquet events, including set up, service and tear down. All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the Hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Hotel.
QUALIFICATIONS

Able to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern demonstrating empathy with the guest and providing positive and proactive solutions. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to add and subtract multiply and divide. Ability to move through a crowded room. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Meets legal age requirements for the position. EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. High school diploma is preferred. Six months to One Year Food & Beverage experience is also preferred. Excellent wine knowledge is preferredCERTIFICATES LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS
Certified in the responsible service of Alcohol and Food Handlers preferred. If not already certified, this training will be provided.PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The pay scale for this position is $16.90 plus tips. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual wage rates will be based on a number of factors, such as experience, type of hotel experience, and education.
