Bartender / Barista Mabel's Market & Bistro | Downtown Davis Mabel's Market & Bistro is looking for a warm, reliable and organized Bartender / Barista to help us create a welcoming and memorable beverage experience for our guests. This is a great position for someone who enjoys hospitality, loves learning about wine and drinks and works well in a lively environment. Our beverage program is intentionally approachable: the focus is on pouring wine and beer, preparing beautiful mocktails and making simple coffee drinks rather than complicated cocktail service. What You'll Do Set up and organize the bar and beverage station for service Pour wine by the glass and bottle with care and consistency Pour and serve beer Prepare beautiful, thoughtfully made mocktails Make espresso, coffee and other café beverages Learn our wine, beer and nonalcoholic beverage selections so you can confidently answer guest questions Help guests choose a wine or beverage that fits their taste and meal Prepare beverages efficiently as orders come in Coordinate with servers and the rest of the front-of-house team to keep service flowing smoothly Maintain clean, polished glassware and an organized bar Restock wine, beer, mixers, garnishes and other beverage supplies throughout service Properly store and organize beverage products at the end of the evening Help clean and reset the bar for the next day We're Looking for Someone Who Is warm, welcoming and genuinely enjoys taking care of people Is calm, organized and dependable Has excellent attention to detail Can work efficiently when several drink orders arrive at once Communicates well and enjoys being part of a team Is interested in learning about wine, beer, coffee and nonalcoholic beverages Takes pride in making drinks look beautiful Understands or is willing to learn responsible alcohol service practices Has restaurant, café, wine bar or hospitality experience — but extensive bartending or cocktail experience is not required The Right Person for This Role You don't need to be a craft cocktail bartender or a wine expert. You might simply be someone who loves hospitality, enjoys good food and drink and gets satisfaction from making people feel welcome. At Mabel's, our bar is about thoughtful simplicity: a beautiful glass of wine, a cold beer, a carefully made mocktail or a great cup of coffee served with warmth and confidence.
