Bartender at The Fairway Lounge | Fresno, CA About the Role The Fairway Lounge is seeking an experienced, personable, and reliable Bartender to join our front-of-house team. The Fairway Lounge combines simulation golf, food and drinks in a social hospitality environment. Our bartenders play an important role in the overall guest experience and are responsible for providing attentive service, preparing beverages consistently, maintaining a clean and organized bar, and supporting the front-of-house team throughout service. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, maintains accuracy under pressure, and understands the importance of hospitality, teamwork, and responsible alcohol service.
Compensation Starting pay:
$17.00 per hour + tips Opportunities for advancement within the role, with hourly pay up to $19.00 per hour Key Responsibilities Prepare cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and consistently according to Fairway Lounge recipes and standards. Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service to bar guests. Maintain an organized and efficient service well while supporting servers throughout the venue. Accurately enter orders, process payments, manage tabs, and handle cash through the POS system. Monitor guest alcohol consumption and follow responsible alcohol-service requirements. Maintain strong knowledge of our food menu, beverage menu, specials, promotions, and available products. Make thoughtful recommendations and appropriately upsell food, beverages, and premium offerings. Maintain cleanliness and organization behind the bar throughout the shift. Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, glassware, garnishes, and other supplies as needed. Complete opening, running, and closing side work thoroughly and on time. Follow proper product rotation, storage, and inventory procedures. Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, support staff, kitchen staff, and management. Assist outside of the immediate bar area when needed to support the overall guest experience. Follow company standards regarding discounts, comps, employee meals, alcohol service, sanitation, and cash handling. Recognize guest concerns and communicate with management when additional assistance is needed. Ideal Candidate Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, bar, or hospitality environment preferred. Strong cocktail, beer, wine, and general beverage knowledge. Comfortable managing both direct bar guests and a busy service well. Excellent communication and guest-service skills. Able to remain organized, accurate, and professional during high-volume periods. Strong attention to cleanliness, presentation, and detail. Reliable, punctual, and accountable. Team-oriented and willing to assist in other areas of the operation when needed. Comfortable receiving feedback and following established recipes, procedures, and standards. Able to recognize signs of intoxication and confidently practice responsible alcohol service. Current California RBS and Food Handler certifications preferred. Required certifications must be obtained within the appropriate timeframe if hired. Must meet all legal requirements for serving alcoholic beverages. What Success Looks Like Consistent, accurate, and timely beverage preparation. Morning and evening availability preferred. Weekend, holiday, and special-event availability may also be required based on business needs.
