Job Description

Job Summary The Bartender will prepare and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to patrons, oversee the stock of liquor and bar supplies, collect money for drinks served, and service patrons and tables in the bar area. The Bartender is expected to maintain the Club's high standards of excellence for appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness in all areas of the Club. Responsibilities Take beverage orders from members, guests, and service staff in a timely and courteous manner. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wine, beer, and specialty drinks, in accordance with club standards. Prepare fruit, garnishes, and bar supplies prior to service to ensure efficient operations. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area at all times. Present glassware and beverage displays in an attractive and professional manner. Ensure bar snacks and accompaniments are adequately stocked and replenished. Keep bar floors clean and safe, including vacuuming or spot cleaning as needed. Verify legal drinking age by checking valid photo identification in compliance with applicable laws. Accurately charge members and guests for all beverages served, ensuring proper billing procedures are followed. Exercise sound judgment in monitoring alcohol consumption and refuse service when appropriate in accordance with responsible beverage service standards. Promptly notify management of any situations involving intoxicated or disruptive patrons and coordinate assistance as needed. Submit orders and requisitions for liquor, beer, and bar supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels. Assist with monthly inventory counts of liquor, beer, and related bar products. Required Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of beverage preparation, presentation, and service standards. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a focus on member satisfaction. Ability to remain calm and professional when handling difficult or intoxicated individuals. Ability to learn and effectively use point-of-sale (POS) systems. Strong communication skills in the primary language of members and guests. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications. Education and Experience Must meet minimum legal age requirements to serve alcohol. Valid Food Handler Card required. Current California ABC Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification required. Prior experience in hospitality, food, or beverage service preferred. Completion of bartending, mixology, or related training preferred. Minimum of one (1) year of relevant bartending or bar service experience required. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to handle or feel. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and be able to stand for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the ability to multi-task and complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner. $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
