Little Mountain is a wood-fired kitchen rooted in Montecito's coastal culture, added to the California Michelin Guide within our first six months of opening. We proudly partner with global and local wineries, breweries, and distilleries as well as farmers, ranchers, and fishermen to source organic and biodynamic ingredients, honoring those relationships through traditional technique and genuine care. Our Spanish Colonial dining room is designed to feel like a home: warm, considered, and unhurried. We're looking for a passionate Sommelier who loves connecting people to wine.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Guide guests through our wine list with warmth, knowledge, and genuine enthusiasm — making thoughtful recommendations and building real connections at the table Drive wine sales through active engagement, pairing suggestions, and a natural ability to read what each guest is looking for Execute wine service with precision and care: opening, decanting, and presenting every bottle the way it deserves Support the Beverage Director with restocking, cellar organization, and inventory counts Contribute to the ongoing wine education of the dining room team through tastings and line-up support Stay deeply current on our list and wine trends
WHO YOU ARE
Genuinely passionate about wine and always curious to know more A natural with guests and warm, approachable, and skilled at calibrating your approach to the table in front of you A confident, enthusiastic salesperson who finds real joy in the match between person and bottle Organized and detail-oriented, with the same care for the cellar as for the guest A team player who shows up for the whole restaurant and the beverage team equally
EXPERIENCE
1-2+ years of sommelier or wine-focused service experience in a fine dining or upscale setting Strong knowledge of wine regions, varietals, producers, and food and wine pairing Experience with wine and beverage service including proper opening, decanting, and glassware Wine certification through the Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET, or equivalent preferred but not required Active California RBS certification required
