More than simply serving beer, bartenders are ambassadors for our company, building relationships with guests while creating experiences that encourage them to return. Successful Bartenders combine hospitality, efficiency, teamwork, a passion for craft beer, and attention to detail while contributing to a clean, organized, and energetic taproom environment. Work location(s) We are seeking a bartender to join our Novato Taproom team specifically, but the ability to cross-train at our other locations (Petaluma & Santa Rosa) is highly encouraged. Schedule This position requires a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Scheduled hours will vary based on business needs. Typically shifts range from 5-8 hours per day and begin in the late morning to early afternoon, and end between 6-10pm. This is subject to change. Number of shifts per week generally ranges from 3 to 5 depending on the needs of the business and the bartending team. Educate guests about HenHouse beers, seasonal releases, and retail offerings. Resolve routine guest concerns professionally, escalating issues when appropriate. Create an atmosphere that encourages guests to return. Beer Knowledge & Brand Representation Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of company beers. Learn beer styles, ingredients, brewing techniques, and seasonal releases. Provide thoughtful recommendations based on guest preferences. Stay informed about upcoming releases, events, and promotions. Represent company values with professionalism and authenticity. Daily Operations Opening and closing duties. Maintaining cleanliness and organization. Bar setup and breakdown. Draft beer quality checks. Restocking products. Merchandise presentation. Food service support. Glassware maintenance. Safety and sanitation. Accurate use of the point-of-sale system.Compensation Base wage:
$18.31/hour.Tips:
You keep 100% of your tips. Tips are your property and are never counted against or used to reduce your base wage. $30/hour earnings guarantee: If your base wages plus tips for a pay period work out to less than $30 per hour worked, the company pays you the difference as a supplemental payment on top of your wages and tips. $30/hour is a floor, not a ceiling — there is no cap on tip earnings. The earnings guarantee is a company program, not a term of employment, and may be modified or discontinued prospectively. Employment is at-will. Benefits Medical — We cover 100% of the employee premium on our base Kaiser plan, with buy-up options including Kaiser upgrades and an Anthem Blue Cross PPO. Dependent coverage available.
