We are seeking team members who can provide excellent guest service while confidently serving craft beer, cocktails, wine, and spirits in a fast-paced restaurant and bar environment. Our bartenders will play an important role in creating the atmosphere of Vallejo Taphouse and building a strong base of repeat customers. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, organized, knowledgeable about beverages, and comfortable handling a busy bar while maintaining excellent service and attention to detail. Responsibilities Prepare and serve cocktails, draft beer, bottled and canned beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service to all guests Learn and consistently follow Vallejo Taphouse drink recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines Make recommendations regarding beer, cocktails, spirits, wine, and food Properly check identification and follow all California ABC alcohol-service requirements Accurately enter orders and process payments using the restaurant POS system Maintain proper cash handling and follow opening and closing procedures Keep the bar, service stations, glassware, equipment, and surrounding areas clean and organized Restock beer, liquor, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and other bar supplies throughout the shift Monitor inventory and communicate low-stock items, product issues, or equipment problems to management Follow responsible alcohol-service practices and recognize when alcohol service should be slowed or discontinued Work closely with servers, bussers, kitchen staff, and management to provide fast and coordinated service Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, stocking, and side-work duties Help maintain a positive, professional, team-oriented work environment Follow all food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and company policies Qualifications Previous bartending experience strongly preferred Restaurant, sports bar, taphouse, brewery, or high-volume bar experience is a plus Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, draft beer, craft beer, and basic wine service Ability to work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining accuracy and guest service Strong communication and customer-service skills Dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team Comfortable handling cash, credit-card transactions, and POS systems Ability to stand for extended periods and perform normal bartender duties, including lifting and carrying bar supplies Must meet all California requirements for serving alcoholic beverages California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification required or must be obtained within the legally required timeframe Food Handler Card required or must be obtained as required Availability We are looking for candidates with flexible availability, including: Days Evenings Weekends Holidays Opening and closing shifts Weekend availability is especially important.
